Biography

George Carl Schultz, 93 years old of La Porte, IN, passed away July 1, 2009 in La Porte Hospital.

He was born September 25, 1915 in Walkerton, IN. Son of the late August W. Schultz and Mary (Wolfe) Schultz.

He was married on January 11, 1941 in Walkerton, IN. to Nylla Eloa (Zahn) Schultz who survives.

George was a US Navy Veteran of WWII, member of LaPorte Lions Club, 32 Degree Master Mason, member of York Rite, Scottish Rite and Eastern Star. 50 year member of North Liberty Masonic Lodge. Member of the LaPorte Hospital Foundation, Swanson Center and First United Methodist Church.

He retired as a Facilities Man for General Telephone Company after 41 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, 3 sons; Terry L. (Vida Ann) Schultz of Orlando, FL, Thomas G. (Mary Ellen) Schultz of St. Charles, IL, James C. Schutlz of LaPorte and 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received Sunday, July 5, 2009 from 2-6 P.M. and on Monday from 12 P.M. until the time of service at the Cutler Funeral Home. The Lions Club will hold a Memorial Service on Sunday at 5:30 P.M.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 6, 2009 at Cutler Funeral Home, with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Interment will follow in the Patton Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the La Porte Lion's Club or First United Methodist Church.
