George Burley Stout, age 62 of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 8:10 A.M., Monday, November 12, 2012 at I.U. Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born December 29, 1949 in Winamac, IN, son of Burl and Fern Roberts Stout.
He was retired from A & A Metal, LaPorte, IN. He served honorably in the United States Army, serving in Germany. He also served many years in the Indiana National Guard. He loved to ride a motorcycle and be at family gatherings. On December 6, 1980 in Mill Creek, IN, he married Edris E. Simar, who died on May 18, 2001.
Surviving are his daughter, Amanda Stout of LaPorte; brothers and sisters, Arnold (Carol) Stout of Demotte, IN, Lovilla June (Hugh) Tetzloff of Sturgis, MI, Ruth Oliver of Valparaiso, IN, Lowell Stout of Star City, IN, Leroy (Maggie) Stout of Star City, IN, Shirley (Jim) Dunkel of Lagrange, IN, Carol (Charles) Pinks of Francesville, IN, Mark (Sherry) Stout of Star City, IN, and Devon Stout of Star City, IN; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edris Stout; two sisters, Darlene Johns and Roberta Jo Johns; and sister in law, Bonnie Stout.
Friends will be received for viewing from 10 A.M. - Noon, Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, IN.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Noon, Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Maggie Stout officiating. Military Honors will be presented during the service at the funeral home.
Cremation will follow the service and Interment will take place privately at Oak Grove Cemetery.
