Georgia "Jo" May Metcalf, 64, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.
She was born in La Porte, IN, on October 30, 1950 to Noah J. Sullivan and Martha (Cooper) Stevens.
On March 10, 1972, she married Virgil Metcalf who survives. Also surviving are their beloved children, Carrie (Ivan) Harris, Valerie (Mark) Lucas, Jason (Michelle) Metcalf, all of La Porte, and Amanda (Lee) Swanson of Warren, MN; four siblings, Melba Bettuo, Ralph (Jeanette)Sullivan, Linda Johnson, and Paula Sullivan; eleven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; and two grandchildren.
Jo was a dedicated homemaker, loved collecting angels and teddy bears, and enjoyed bowling when she was able. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Monday, August 3, 2015, at 11 AM with Rev. James Leonard Johnson officiating. A private family burial will take place in Kingsbury Cemetery at a later date.
A time of visitation will be held from 2-6 PM on Sunday, August 2, 2015, and from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
