Gerald Larry Moisan, age 74, of La Porte passed away Friday morning March 1, 2013 at his residence. He was born on June 27, 1938 the son of William & Doris (Swain) Moisan in Michigan City, IN. On July 26, 1959 he married Joyce Lombard, she preceded him in death on June 3, 1995.
He is survived by four daughters, Melodie (Bill) Fugate of Norfolk, VA, Tammie Lantz of Newport News, VA, Pamela Nicholls of Carrollton, Va, & Lori Winchester of Dade City, FL; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and 8 siblings. Two of his grandchildren were his special caretakers, Felicia Schoff & Angela Wells.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, & two brothers.
Gerald served his country honorably in the United States Marines. He later retired from New York Blowers as a welder after 35 years of service.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday March 5, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Cutler Funeral Home & Cremation Center. JoEllyn Chadwick of First United Methodist Church in La Porte will officiate. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service. A private family committal will take place at a later date.
