Gladys Frances Kemp, 94 years old of La Porte, IN, passed away Sunday April 10, 2011 at the La Porte Hospital Continuing Care Unit.
She was born on October 18, 1916 in Biggar, Saskatchewan, Canada to Frank and Annie (Pich) Stanek.
She graduated from Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1938. She was employed as an R.N. at Holy Family Hospital in
La Porte from 1939-1981.
She was married on October 21, 1943 to Malcom V. Kemp who preceded her in death on October 20, 1988.
Surviving are son; Arthur F.(Carol) Kemp of La Porte, daughter; Mary Ann Kahn of Davie, Fl., three grandchildren; Amy Kemp of Indianapolis, IN., Matthew (Amy) Kemp of Seattle, WA., and Leah Kahn of Hoboken, N.J., two Great Grandchildren; Katharine & Carter Kemp, three sisters; Florence Hayes of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, Ruby Arsenault of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, and Adeline Smith of Denver, CO., two Brothers; Norman Stanek of Rosetown, Saskatchewan, Canada, & Ronald Stanek of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She was a member of First Christian Church and
La Porte Hospital Retirees.
There will be a Private Memorial Service and a Private Family burial at a later time in the Pine Lake Cemetery with Rev. Steve Laue officiating.
Contributions may be made to the La Porte Salvation Army or the Kemp Family Scholarship through the LaPorte Hospital Foundation.
