Grant E. Hunsley, Sr., 28, of Mill Creek, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at his home.
Grant was born in La Porte, IN, on June 19, 1988 to Gary and Bonnie (Perkins) Hunsley.
Surviving are his parents, Bonnie Hunsley and Gary (Kristine) Hunsley; beloved son, Grant Hunsley, Jr; sisters, Carrie (Jeff) Ryan of Chicago, Amanda (Brian) Simmons of Michigan City, and Whitney (Michael) VanAsdall of New Carlisle; grandmothers, Genece Hunsley of La Porte and Jeanne Perkins of La Porte; special great aunt, Ina Mae Diedrich; nieces, Jaylin, Teja and Miya Simmons; nephews, Austin, Ryland and Lundin VanAsdall, and Elias Ryan; godsons, Kayden Jones and Kolby and Koltyn Grillo; and several other aunts, uncles, and many friends he claimed as family. He held a special place in his heart for Grant, Jr.'s mother, Ashley Griffis.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard Hunsley and Marvin Ray Perkins; and uncles, Gary Simpson and Michael Northern.
Junior was Grant's greatest pride and joy. He loved spending quality time with him, giving him the best he could to any extent. They enjoyed four-wheeling, riding around in the semi, and getting out in the field. Grant was known for his strong and loyal work ethic, no matter what he was doing. Grant would help anyone with anything at anytime. Grant had a special bond with his nieces and nephews and was Uncle Grant to many friends' children.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM, Monday, January 23, 2017 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A time of visitation will be held from 3 PM until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in c/o Bonnie Hunsley, 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte, IN 46350. Funds will be used to set up a trust fund for Grant's son.
