Harold Eugene Coffman, 89, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on January 26, 2024 at Millers Merry Manor in New Carlisle.
Harold was born on October 30, 1934 in Acme, Pennsylvania to Frank and Olive (Miller) Coffman.
On August 15, 1959 in Winchester, Virginia, he married Barbara Lucille Ritenour who preceded him in death. Surviving are his children, Sandra Goodman of La Porte, Mary (Chad) Mowinski of La Porte, Susan (Gary) Keehn of La Porte, Jeffrey Coffman of Michigan City, and Frank Coffman of La Porte; 12 grandchildren: 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Loretta Szatkowski of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, John Goodman; great-grandson, Samuel Coffman; sister, Betty Wensel; and brothers, Jack and Reed Coffman.
Harold worked as a Union Carpenter for Local 1485 for 53 years before his retirement. He was a United States Army veteran. Harold was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Michigan City. Harold and Barbara enjoyed attending gospel concerts. He enjoyed gardening and at harvest time Barbara did the canning. Above all, Harold enjoyed time spent with his loving family.
A Celebration of Life Service with Full Military Honors will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Jeff Hines officiating. A private family burial will take place at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Michigan City, Indiana.
The time of visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, and from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
