Harold Hocutt, 74, of Michigan City, Indiana, died at 3:04 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, at the Springville Free Methodist Church with Rev. David Hill officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Springville Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted.
Harold was born March 13, 1932, in Hebron, Indiana to Jesse & Nannie Viola (Knickerbocker) Hocutt. On September 29, 1956, in LaPorte, he married Lois Carolyn Doane who survives.
Also surviving are sons Randal (Janet) Hocutt of LaPorte and Michael (Gail) Hocutt of Zionsville, IN; grandchildren Zachary, Caleb & Alexandra Hocutt and Scott & Brian Mannia; brothers Albert Hocutt of LaPorte and Robert Lee Hocutt of Lake Jackson, TX; sister Viola Renfro of Rolling Prairie, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, 5 sisters and 2 brothers preceded him in death.
Harold had worked at GTE as a splicer from January 1957 to December 1993. He had served as a sergeant in the US Marines from 1952-1955 and had served in the reserves from 1955-1960. He attended Springville Free Methodist Church and was a member of Farm Bureau, Excelsior Lodge #41 F&AM and the VFW.
