Harold L. Kelling, 101, LaPorte, died of natural causes at 9 a.m. Monday (April 19, 2004) at LaPorte Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, with the Rev. David Young officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
He was born April 17, 1903, in LaPorte to William C. and Elizabeth (Voss) Kelling. On June 22, 1946, in LaPorte, he married Lorna Jonas, who died June 3, 1998.
Survivors include two nephews, William Kelling, Angels Camp, Calif., and Jack Jonas, Davis, Calif.; two nieces, Barbara Kastrup, Aachen, Germany, and June Kesterson, Escalon, Calif.; special caregivers Ella and Dennis Kalsow; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
One brother, Wilbur Kelling, also preceded Mr. Kelling in death.
Mr. Kelling had retired from Whirlpool, where he had worked as an accountant. He was a graduate of LaPorte High School and had attended the University of Chicago and the University of Colorado. Mr. Kelling was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
