H. C. Long, 80 years old of La Porte, IN, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 in Golden Living Center, Countryside Place in La Porte.
He was born Jan.10, 1931 in Manila, Arkansas, son of the late Robert Lee & Lillian L. (Rushing) Long.
H.C. worked for Modine Manufacturing, American Rubber and retired in 1989 from Waste Management.
A very hard worker, former member of I Street Bar Pool League, he enjoyed woodworking and camping with his family.
H.C. married June 12, 1954 in Benton Harbor, MI. to Dorothy B. Reese who survives, also surviving are 3 sons; Martin D. (Lynn) Long of Omaha, NE. Jeffrey A. Long of Anchorage, AL., Jerry W. (Mary) Long of Mill Creek,IN. 6 Grandchildren; Melinda Capello, Aaron, Jeremy, Jennie Long, Randall & Randa Elder, 5 brothers & sisters;Harold Kenneth, Imogene, Wanda, Morris Wayne & Bobby Dean.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother; Charles.
Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 PM Friday at the Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Cox,officiating. There will be visitation with family from 4-6:00 PM Friday.
