Helen "Terri" R. (Rumsey) Upton

Helen "Terri" R. Upton, 76, of Michigan City, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Franciscan Health Michigan City.

Terri was born in San Angelo, TX, on April 15, 1941 to Homer and Alma Pearl (Tennyson) Rumsey.

On October 13, 1998, she married Roger Upton who survives in Michigan City.  Also surviving are her beloved children, Cally (Scott) Schoenhardt of Allen, TX and Jason (Susan) Geddes of West Lafayette; grandchildren, Melina Hartill of Arlington, TX, Morgan Hartill of Allen, TX, Joshua Geddes of Indianapolis, Joseph, Sophia, and Sonja Geddes of West Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.

Terri loved her grandchildren.  She was very proud of each of them and was an amazing grandmother. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her extended family and friends.  She loved to crochet, play cards, travel, collect owls and loved to solve word search puzzles.  She belonged to La Porte Chapter of the Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary, and was a member of the Horseshoe Wives Club.  In her early years in Michigan City, she was a member of the area Welcome Wagon and also the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Terri graduated from Lake View High School in 1959 and attended San Angelo Business College.  She worked at Carson Pierre Scott as a sales associate and was an assistant branch manager of First of America Bank at Lighthouse Place Mall.  She also was Managing Partner of Terrioakie Woodcrafts.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM (CST) on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Interment will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte.

A time of visitation will be held from 4 -8 PM (CST) on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 AM Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
