Henry Scalf

Henry "Hank" George Scalf, 59 years old of LaPorte, IN, passed away at 6:10 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 5, 1951 Rivervale, Arkansas to the late Samuel and Delorah (Baxley) Scalf.

Henry retired from Sullair Corp. He was a member of LaPorte Missionary Church, past member of LaPorte County Bassmasters. He was an avid camper and bass fisherman. He loved NASCAR and old movies. He was a fan of Zane Grey Westerns and he loved to watch the garden grow. He could eat beans and cornbread seven days a week. Henry served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1974. Serving one year and 6 months in Vietnam.

Survived by Carol Towle and their children, Lisa Scalf, Amy (Matthew) Schwartz, and Amanda Greenlaw. Debbie Deckard and their children, Christopher and Karissa, Michael (Kristie) Deckard, Matthew (Kaelyn Ludlow) Deckard and Mark & Lexi Deckard.
Grandchildren, Saira, Zachary & Zoe Schwartz, Brooklynn & Samantha Deckard and Kendel Ludlow; sisters, Sharon (Virgil) Kunkle, Jackie (Tommy) Roy, Samuel Larry (Pamela) & Garry (Patti) Scalf; many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dudley Scalf & Gearld Scalf and his wife, Susan.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Galloway officiating.
There will be a time of Visitation on Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 2:30 - 4:00 P.M. at Cutler Funeral Home.
Cremains will be interred at a later time in Carmel Cemetery,Union Mills, IN.

Contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice or Donor's Choice.
