Hugh Lee "Roy" Hamlin, 81, of Michigan City, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. Anthony's Memorial Health Center.
Roy was born in Pisgah Forest, NC, on March 4, 1935 to Cleophus and Ethel (Barnes) Hamlin.
On August 16, 1958, he married Rosita Teixeira who survives. Also surviving are his beloved son, Gordon (LaDonna) Hamlin of Shelbyville, IN; granddaughter, Gabrielle Hamlin; and sister, Mattie Whitmire of Brevard, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edwin Hamlin; sisters, Pearl Hamlin, Anna Lou Gevedon; and half brother, Carl Hamlin.
Roy served honorably as a US Marine in the Korean War. He was a member of the Jaycees and the Baptist Brotherhood. Roy served as a Church Deacon and enjoyed golfing.
A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held privately with family.
