Ida Nutting, age 86, of La Porte, passed away on October 31, 2013 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.
She was born in Donora, PA on January 1, 1927 to Edward A. and Dena (Fontanelli) Zandanel. Ida was a 1945 graduate of Donora High School, Donora, PA.
On March 23, 1946, she married Eugene H. Nutting who preceded her in death on July 22, 2002. Surviving are her grandson, Brian C. Troth of Westville; her sister, Louise Bittenbring of Arlington, VA; two brothers, Victor (Dorothy) Zandanel of La Porte and Lee (Ann) Zandanel of Largo, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughter, Jeannie Troth on December 9, 2010; her sister, Dolores Hines; and a brother, Edward Zandanel.
Ida worked as a Library Secretary for the La Porte Community School Corporation from 1965-1990. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and of the Business Girls.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A private family service has been held.
