Irene Marie Hocutt, 89, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 4:00 A.M. in LaPorte, IN. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 10, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Joseph Loftis officiating. There will be a time of visitation on Sunday, November 9, 2008 from 2-4 P.M. at Cutler Funeral Home and on Monday from 10-11 A.M. at the church. Burial will take place at Patton Cemetery.
Irene was born October 16, 1919 in LaPorte, IN to the late Fred and Katherine (Leeker) Struss.
Irene was married on January 6, 1940 in LaPorte, IN to Albert J. Hocutt who survives.
Other survivors include 1 Daughter: Janice (Larry) Daniels of LaPorte, IN; 1 Son: Donald (Linda Thurston) Hocutt of LaPorte, IN. 3 Grandchildren: Dawn Long, Jeffrey Daniels, Kristine M. Owens; 2 Great Grandchildren: Scott & Brad Novak; 10 Great Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Ruth Strauch of Wilmette, IL; and several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 Brothers: Alvin, Russell and Robert Struss; 1 Sister: Bea Chadderdon; 1 Grandchild: Tina Colston and 1 Great Grandchild: Roger Colston, Jr.
Irene was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church and Woman’s Guild. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and crocheting afghans.
