Irma G. Mounce, 69, LaPorte, died of natural causes at 4 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 18, 2004) at her home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte. Burial will be in Door Village Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mounce was born June 28, 1934, in Donovan, Ill., to Earl and Airy (Myers) Smith. On April 11, 1953, she married Harold Towle, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 8, 1986, she married Alvin Mounce, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include five daughters, Lynn (Garry) Michiaels, Wanatah, Carol Greenlaw, Texas, Shirley Hughes, Michigan City, Peggy Watts, LaPorte, and Patty (Tom) Burger, LaPorte; two sons, David (Karen) Towle and Jeff Towle, both of LaPorte; 26 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Merle Smith, of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Brown; two sisters; and four brothers,
Mrs. Mounce was a former business owner in Michigan City, Springville and Watseka, Ill. She was a member of the Union Mills American Legion Auxiliary.
