J. Michael Heagy, 60, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, at Cutler Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until time of services. Burial will take place at a later time.
Michael was born September 6, 1944 in Lebanon, PA to John & Louise (Bowman) Heagy. On May 19, 1967, in Morristown, NJ, he married Carol K. Kirk, who survives.
Also surviving are sons Michael Christopher (Paula) Heagy of Louisville, KY and Shannon (Regina) Heagy of Carmel, IN; grandchildren Jackson, Bryce, Travis & Kylie; mother, Louise of Cornwell, PA; and brother Philip (Jan) Heagy of Houston, TX.
His father preceded him in death.
Michael had retired as Senior Editor of Public Affairs for the Bethlehem Steel Company. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the LaPorte County Library. He was a graduate of Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ, with a BA degree.
