Jack C. Miller, 86, of La Porte, IN, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Miller Health and Rehab in La Porte with his loving family by his side.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. There will be a time of visitation with the family on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 4-8 PM with a Moose Memorial Service to take place at 7 PM and on Thursday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Patton Cemetery.

Jack was born November 28, 1928 in La Porte, IN to the late Walter and Josephine (Moore) Miller. He was married on October 1, 1950 in La Porte, IN, to Phyllis (Steigely) Miller. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army in Germany where he achieved the rank of Sgt. First Class.

Jack worked as a crane operator and retired from Local 150. He was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge 492. He was a devoted husband and a loving father who enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as NASCAR, fishing, and word search puzzles.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Peggy (Bill) Marquardt of La Porte; brother, Duane (Jenn) La Doux of MA; sister, Bonnie Piech of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Christopher Marquardt of La Porte, Nevada Marquardt of Indianapolis, and Sierra Marquardt of La Porte; and great-great grandchildren, Amara, Damion, and Harper.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis; son, Michael C. Miller; and twin brother, Gene Miller; and sister, Joyce Miller.
