Jack D. Waak Sr., 85, of La Porte, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Golden Living Center.
Jack was born in La Porte, IN, on January 10, 1934 to Lester and Mary E. (Bennett) Waak.
Jack graduated from Stillwell High School in 1954.
On August 16, 1958 in Dillon, SC, he married Mary Fary who survives. Also surviving are his beloved children, Judy (Steven) Waak-Pearce of Rolling Prairie, Jack Waak, Jr. of La Porte, and Ray Waak of Dothan, AL; 3 grandchildren, Chad (Sarah) Waak of Rolling Prairie, Ryan (Breanna) Waak of Mishawaka, and Chelsea Waak of Michigan City; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Cathy Hoff of La Porte; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers, Leonard, Dale, David, Bernard, Charles, Joe, John, Jim, and Terry Waak.
Jack owned several businesses over his lifetime. He was a member of Moose Lodge 492 and American Legion Post 83. Jack enjoyed gardening, fishing, Cubs baseball and Nascar.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service and Moose Lodge Service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Roger Ash officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Patton Cemetery.
