James M. Carrier, age 33, of La Porte, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at home. He was born on February 20, 1982 in La Porte, Indiana to Dennis Ray and Berneda Kay (Mullins) Carrier. Like a wise man, he never married.
James is survived by his parents; five siblings, Deborah Carrier, Kimberly (James) Conley, Michael (Melissa Soales) Carrier, Jason Carrier, and Katherine Carrier all of La Porte; many aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews, Aubri, Avalina, Alaric James, Bryker, Emily, and Abby. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Rebecca Carrier and his grandparents.
James graduated from La Porte High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Purdue University. He worked for Keys Counseling in Mishawaka and enjoyed helping kids. James attended First United Pentecostal Church in La Porte and loved to fish, play basketball, and more than anything spend time with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan, rooted for the Colts, and even liked Notre Dame.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First United Pentecostal Church, 1930 Boyd Blvd., La Porte, IN on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2 pm (CST). Pastor Richard Hoffman will officiate. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in La Porte.
A time of visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Friday, January 8, 2016 and from 1pm until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
