James F. Hagenow, age 79 years old of La Porte, IN, passed away on Saturday February 16, 2013 at home.
He was born Friday, January 5, 1934 in LaPorte, IN, son of the late Louis F. and Marjorie B. (Sanderson) Hagenow.
He was married on June 20, 1954 in LaPorte, IN to Barbara A. Euler who preceded him in death on November 7, 2005. He then married Lila Sweet on June 30, 2007 in LaPorte, IN.
Surviving are daughter; Christine A. (Brian) Lidgard of LaPorte, IN., sons; Jeffrey J. (Donna) Hagenow of LaPorte, Jerry F. (Tammy) Hagenow of LaPorte, James L. (Carol) Hagenow of Wayland, MI.; step-children, Lewis (Ellen) Kyes and Jim (Cathy) Sweet of La Porte; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He served in the United States Navy for 20 years active & 10 years reserve as a Petty Officer 1st Class. He also worked for North Shore Sales for several years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, two infant sisters & brothers Louis Neal & Richard Hagenow.
Friends will be received at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, IN from 3-7 PM on Tuesday February 19, 2013 and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in La Porte on Wednesday February 20, 2013 at 10 AM with Pastor Ronald Brauer officiating.
Interment will follow in the Patton Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted.
