James K. Koon, 68, of Indianapolis, IN, died at 2:23 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at the St. Vincent Hospice Unit in Indianapolis.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2004 at the Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Ohime officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow the service.
James was born July 10, 1936, in LaPorte, IN to Robert & Florence (Heimlich) Koon. On May 14, 1960, he married Arlene Gulley, who survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Juli Cheever of Redlands, CA and Debra (Ira) Mills of Carmel, IN; son Jeffrey Koon of LaPorte; and grandchildren, Leslie, Taylor, Rebecca and Joshua.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Robert.
James had retired from Northern Indiana Public Service Company. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in LaPorte. He had also served in the US Air Force from 1955-1959.
