Mike was the son of George E. and Carol (Crosthwait) Smutzer who preceded him in death.
Mike worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp., managed Georges Car Wash for many years, Andersons Tapes in LaPorte and was known as "Mr. Video", also he worked at Time Out II, Roc & Rog's, Lenards, and the FOP
He graduated from LaPorte High School in 1966, and was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam, he also belonged to the Legion Post #83
