James "Jimmy" Ray Long

James "Jimmy" Ray Long, 70, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at his home.

Jimmy was born on April 15, 1950 in Berrien Springs, MI, to James and Sybil (Kelley) Long.

Jimmy is survived by his children, Temple Gerhart of Kingsford Heights, Tiffany Hoen of La Porte, Matthew Long of Indianapolis, and Samuel Long of Muncie; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Norman; and brothers, David, Ricky, and Larry Long.

Jimmy was a construction worker for many years at Tonn and Blank.  He was a member of  the Fish and Game Club.  Jimmy enjoyed playing acoustic guitar and completing crossword puzzles.  He loved to watch and feed wildlife.  Jimmy enjoyed and was often found tending to his garden, plants, and flowers.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  A private family service was held.
