Jan-Michael Henning, age 41, of La Porte, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at home.
Jan-Michael was born on April 15, 1974 in Lawton, OK, to David and Marcia Rosalie (Gray) Henning.
He is survived by his mother, Marcia Rosalie Henning of La Porte, IN; nieces and nephews, Danielle Henning, Christian Cunningham, and Corey Cunningham, all of La Porte, IN; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, David Willard Henning on February 15, 2014 and his sister, Tara Cunningham on October 19, 2015.
Jan-Michael was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church and was a graduate of Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Management. Jan-Michael was very passionate about God's creation and loved nature. He had worked at Flagg Ranch near Yellow Stone National Park and also at Potato Creek State Park where he continued to volunteer on a regular basis.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at La Porte Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1480 Boyd Blvd, La Porte, IN 46350 on Sunday March 6, 2016 at 3 PM. Rev. Eric Freking will officiate. A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. Jan-Michael will be laid to rest with his father and sister this spring at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mill Creek, IN.
