Jane was married in 1944 in New Bern, N. Carolina To Harry O. Carpenter who preceded her in death Aug. 31,1975
Jane graduated from Springville Township High School in 1941. She attended Reese School of Business. She worked for A.J. Schmitt Jewelry, Meissner's Pharmacy as a bookkeeper & Levine Boston Store. During WWII Jane worked at Bated & Rogues as well as Todd & Brown at K.O.P. She also worked for Allis Chalmers. She was an accountant for Harry Carpenter Trucking, after selling the Company she worked for the Bank of Three Oaks, P.T.I., Ryder Trucking Co. after moving to LaGrange, IN. She worked Allied Van Lines with 24 Male accountants. She joined her son Michael in Carmichael Designs and moved to California in 1984. He sold the business in 2000 and Jane retired and moved back to LaPorte to be near family and old friends. She lived at the Ruth Sabin Retirement Home.
