Jane M. Thompson, age 76, of New Buffalo, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Franciscan Hospice Communities in Michigan City.
Jane was born in La Porte, IN, on March 4, 1939 to Ward J. and Alberta (Wilson) Schwenk.
On September 26, 1970, she married Sid Thompson who preceded her. Surviving are her brothers, John, Mark, Paul, and Dale Schwenk; her sisters, Doris Schwenk and Mary Pearce, both of La Porte, IN; and her special friend, Michael Kline.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; husband; and nephew.
She was a member of Galena Baptist Church, Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #9423 in Rolling Prairie, and International Association Administrative Professionals (IAAP). She enjoyed gardening, car shows, her church, and spending time with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 am (CST) on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in La Porte. Reverend Floyd Wilcox will be officiating. Burial will take place after the service at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo, MI.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm (CST) on Friday, March 20, 2015 and Saturday from 9 am (CST) until the time of service at the funeral home.
