Janet Louise (Young) Scott, 82 years old of LaPorte, IN passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Munson Medical Hospital, Traverse City, MI.
She was born March 29, 1929 in Washington, IN, to William and Esther (Nelson) Young who preceded her in death.
Janet lived in LaPorte for 60 years since moving from Shoals, IN. She was an elementary school teacher for 41 years in LaPorte and spent most of that time teaching at Lincoln Elementary School . She was a Shakley Vitamin Distributor for over 20 years. Janet also was co-founder, developer, and owner of Turtle Lake Cammpground in Beulah, MI.
Surviving are her three sons: John (Maureen) Scott, William "Bill" (Bonnie) Scott, both of LaPorte; and Mark (Robin) Scott of New Castle, IN; five grandchildren: Brian, Ian, Daniel, David, and Emeline; one sister: Beth (Young) Grady of The Villages, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Newton Scott and one brother: William Nelson Young.
A time of visitation with the family will be from 3-7PM on Saturday July 9 at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, IN.
