Janet Louise (Long) VanSickle, 79, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Brickyard Healthcare-Terrace Care Center.
Janet was born to Paul W. and M. Louise (Robbins) Long on July 28, 1943, joining brother Don W. Long.
She was joined in marriage to Richard L. VanSickle on October 17, 1959. Surviving Janet are her children, Brian L. VanSickle of Ocala, FL, Debra K. Phelps of La Porte, and Terry L. VanSickle of La Porte; grandchildren, Nathan Kellogg, Miranda Kellogg, Mindy Hernandez, Jeremy VanSickle, Ryan Pavlakovic and Nikolas Pavlakovic; many great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Michael) Gillock; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Misty VanSickle; and brother, Don W. Long.
Janet was a laborer for many years at Whirlpool. She also had worked at Hook's Pharmacy and St. Joseph Hospital.
She was a longtime bowler and master pool player. Janet also enjoyed reading and loved animals, especially her dogs, Cocoa and Abby. She was a member of a Wednesday morning Bible study group. Friends and family of Janet enjoyed her cooking, quick smiles, and her congenial personality.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. Burial will take place at a later date.
