Janis McDonald, 91, of Leesburg, Florida and formerly of LaPorte, died on Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg. Janis had also lived in Kansas for 30 years.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 4, at Cutler Funeral Home in LaPorte. Visitation was held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial was in Pine Lake Cemetery.
Janis was born to the late Hobart & Estelle (Juday) Kiff. On October 1, 1940, she married Thomas McDonald, who preceded her in death in 2003.
Surviving are her Florida special care-givers Helen Linville, Rose Bates and Mary Pickett and many nieces and nephews from the Strieter, Lambert and Kiff families in LaPorte.
After graduating from LaPorte High School she had worked at the Chicago Worlds Fair and co-managed a farm. She was a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago and had traveled throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
