Jari Benefiel, 73, of 1638 S. Willowbend Dr., LaPorte, Indiana, went home to heaven to be with the Lord at 11:37 A.M. on Friday, November 7, 2008. She was born January 12, 1935 in LaPorte to Ray and Coral (Brown) Fara who preceded her in death.
On June 16, 1956 she married George (Benny) Benefiel in LaPorte who survives along with her children Bret (Cindy) Benefiel of LaPorte, Scot (Mary) Benefiel and Mele (Mark) Simonson of Arizona; grandchildren: Sara and Jake Benefiel of LaPorte, Ellyn and Matt Benefiel, David Simonson, and Michael (Erin) Simonson of Arizona; great grandchild: Uriah Simonson of Arizona and brother: Thomas R. Fara of LaPorte.
Jari attended Indiana University and was a Tri Delta. She was a homemaker who passionately loved her family; a past owner of House of Fara and the Copper Eagle Gift Shop; a member of Tri-Kappa, the Ruth C. Sabin Home board, Prison Fellowship, Countryside Christian Church; a past president of the Christian’s Women’s Club and a Bible Study Fellowship leader. Until the time of her death she took part in a breast cancer support group that met in her home.
Jari’s life encouraged all who knew her. She fought the good fight, kept the faith and finished well. She will be greatly missed especially by her family that loves her so much.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3PM Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Cutler Funeral Home, 2900 Monroe Street, LaPorte, Indiana, with Pastor Kevin Galloway officiating. A time of visitation with Jari's Family will be held on Saturday from 1PM until the time of service at 3PM. Burial will take place privately at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
