Jean was the daughter of Jason E. and Winnie (Legg) VanTassel who both preceded her in death.
She was married on May 27, 1939 to Emil Asman who survives.
Jean was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in LaPorte, IN and a former member of Peace Lutheran Church in Saginaw, MI. She worked as an Interior Decotator. She was past president of the Valparaiso University Guild in Saginaw, MI and Charter Member of the Junior Reading Club in Saginaw, MI.
Jean was preceded in death by her Parents, 3 Sisters: Ruth Heeg, Zoe and Norma VanTassel; 2 Brothers: Ronald and Edward VanTassel
