Jeffery L. Eiler Sr., age 61, of La Porte, passed away on September 25, 2013 at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born in La Porte, on January 2, 1952 to Charles John Sr. and Donna Mae (Keller) Eiler.
Surviving are his beloved children, Jeffery L. (Shay) Eiler Jr. of La Porte, and Timothy R. Eiler of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren, Ethan, Zavier, McKenna, Kaden all of La Porte and Aiyana, Macayle, and Kyle all of San Antonio, TX; his mother Donna Eiler of LaPorte; three siblings, Charles John Eiler II of Florence, SC; Dianna Jean Price of Westville and Jim (Betty) Eiler of La Porte.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles John Eiler III; his father, Charles John Eiler Sr. three brothers, Rex,Jerald and Jay (his twin brother) Eiler; and a sister, Janet Eiler.
Jeffery worked for the City of La Porte for over 28 years as a mechanic. He was a former member of the Eagles and the Moose. He was a mechanical genius and enjoyed helping other people.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cutler Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Saturday September 28, 2013 at 2PM. Pastor Jack Balon will officiate. Friends and family will all be invited to attend a carry in dinner at the La Porte Civic Auditorium immediately following the service.
A cremation committal will take place with a private burial to take place in Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
Friends and family will be received from 12-2 PM at Cutler Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Saturday September 28, 2013.
