Jeremy Todd Hoehne, 24, of La Porte, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at La Porte Hospital, as the result of an automobile accident which occurred on March 16.
He was born March 20, 1979, in La Porte, to James and Laurel (Wegner) Hoehne.
In 1997, he played on the La Porte Slicer basketball team which was one of the Final Four teams to play in the last single-class Indiana State Finals. He worked for Bearcom in Chicago and was a member of Scipio Township Volunteer Fire Department. In January, he was chosen to participate in a Counter Terrorist Training session in Anniston, Alabama, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice & the Center for Domestic Preparedness. He was pursuing a firefighting career.
Preceding him in death were his grandmother Donna Jeanne Hoehne and grandfathers Victor Hoehne and Richard Wegner.
Surviving are his parends James and Cindy Hoehne, and Dale and Laurel Peterson, all of La Porte, as well as two brothers, Patrick Hoehne of Carmel, IN, and Todd Peterson of Remington, IN. He is also survived by his grandmother Anne Wegner of La Porte, Aunt Lynn Lee of La Porte, and Aunt and Uncle Susan and James Freel of Findlay, OH.
His extended family includes grandparents Bill and Betty Brown of Plymouth, IN and Richard and Millie Gillen of La Porte, and Aunts Diane Peterson of South Bend and Linda Mrozinski of La Porte.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 30 2003 at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hadley of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call at Cutler Funeral Home Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday by the Scipio Township Volunteer Fire Department. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scipio Township Volunteer Fire Department, La Porte, IN.
