Jesse Ray Hoops, Jr., 60, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oaklawn, IL. He was born in Linton, IN, on January 29, 1955 to Jesse Ray Sr. and Norma Jean (Flory) Hoops. On October 24, 1981, Jesse married Debra Schmidt; she survives.
Also surviving are their beloved children, Amy Puentes, Sean Hoops, and Ada Hoops all of La Porte, IN; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy, Jannie, Joey, and Janet; an uncle, Gilbert; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jesse attended school in La Porte County. He worked for Air Sweep for many years and eventually retired as a RV Transporter at Horizon Transport. He attended Bethany Lutheran Church in La Porte and loved his family dearly.
A cremation committal will take place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Rev. James Starcevic will officiate.
A time of visitation will be held from 3 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place at Beatty's Corners Cemetery, Michigan City, IN.
