Jessica L. (Kasten) Magnuson

Jessica L Magnuson, 31, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at La Porte Hospital.

Jessica was born in La Porte, IN, on August 8, 1987 to Robert and Bethany (Moellman) Kasten. On June 3, 2017 in La Porte, she married Eugene Magnuson.   She became his best friend and travel companion.  Jessica was a full-time mother and homemaker.

Surviving are her husband; son, Philip Lee Kasten of La Porte; parents, Robert and Bethany Kasten of La Porte; sister, Kori Kasten-Mobley of La Porte; great-grandmother, Dorothy Moellman of La Porte; godtwins, Luke and Noah Mobley of La Porte; as well as many aunts and uncles.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gary and Bernice Kasten; uncle, Phil Moellman;  aunt, Hope Rule; and special friend, Liz Hapke.

Jessica attended St. John’s School and La Porte High School.  She was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church.  Jessica enjoyed composing and singing her own original songs.  Jessica loved music and was very proficient playing the guitar, violin and piano.  Jessica received her Certified Medical Assistant Certification from Brown Mackie and was looking forward to continuing her studies towards a RN license. She loved to help others and loved her family. Jessica’s heart was made of sunshine, nevertheless Jessica’s loving heart couldn’t contain all the love she felt for her family and friends.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Ungrodt and Rev. Dr. Schaeffer officiating.

A time of visitation will be held from 11 am until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
