Joanne E. Mitchell, 74 years old of Lafayette, IN, and formerly of LaPorte died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in Rosewalk Villages, Lafayette, IN.
She was born Feb. 29, 1936 in Niles, MI., daughter of the late Marion and Bessie (Burge) Ward
She was married on Oct. 22, 1976 to Marvin E. Mitchell who survives in Lafayette, IN., also surviving are a dtr; Brenda Wheatbrook of Colorado and formerly of LaPorte, a son; David Wheatbrook, Colorado and formerly of LaPorte, Step Dtrs; Marji (Lee) Schnell of Houston, TX., Marilyn (Richard) Ferguson of W. Lafayette, IN., Step sons; William (Karina) Mitchell of Houston, TX., Richard (Susan) Mitchell of Lafayette, IN., Grandchildren; Kathleen Beasley, Kiley, Eric, Karsey, Lara, Luke, Megan, Craig, & Brooke, Gt. Grandchildren; Benjamin, Wyatt, Lucy, Kendrick, Emily, Erik, Ethan, Quincy, Jordan, Jonelle, & Jillian, 2 Sis; Jeanne Pierce, of Claypool, IN, Theresa Ward of Niles,Mi., Bro; John Ward, of Niles, MI.
She was preceded in death by; 1 son; Craig Wheatbrook, bro; Buddy Ward, and Sis; Mary Ellen Mitchell.
She worked at LaPorte Transporte as manager for over 18 years, was also a member of the Moose Lodge of LaPorte.
Friends will be received at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, IN. from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM., Monday Aug. 2, 2010 with a Graveside Service at 1:00 PM at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
