John was the son of the Late William and Margaret (Mansfield) Anderton.
He was married on November 29, 1045 to Angela Mary Bernadette Noonan who preceded him in death on February 12, 2005.
John was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII receiving 3 Bronze Stars. He served as City Judge, City Attorney, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, maintained offices in Union Mills, Westville and Wanatah, as well as LaPorte over the years. He graduated Cum Laude from Notre Dame. He was admitted to the Indiana Bar over 50 years ago. He and his wife loved to vacation often, where they could swim and scuba dive. He also enjoyed skiing and their cottage on Lake Michigan. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church,La Porte Co. & Indiana State Bar Associations.
