Jack Hofer, 83, of LaPorte, Indiana formerly of Rolling Prairie, IN, died at 8:10 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2006 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, at Cutler Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery.
Jack was born September 26, 1922, in Rolling Prairie to the late Harold W. & Frances G. (Turner) Hofer. He married Barbara Matve, who preceded him in death on November 14, 2005.
Survivors include son Gregory (Cathy) Hofer of LaPorte; daughters Pamela (Craig) Cooper of Indianapolis, IN and Barbara (Paul) Bealor of Phoenix, AZ; and grandchildren Lauren & Grant Hofer, Nathan Bealor, Kathy Greer, and Bryce & Eric Cooper.
A brother, James Hofer and a sister, Margaret Eliose Hofer preceded him in death.
Jack had worked at Allis Chalmers for 29 years and had retired from Easy Heat Wire Craft in Rolling Prairie. He was a graduate of Rolling Prairie High School. He was a member of American Legion Post #83 and of First Christian Church of Rolling Prairie. He was also a US Army veteran of WW II.
