John P. Pearson Sr., 78, died at 8:58 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004 at LaPorte Hospital.
A private family service will be held graveside at Patton Cemetery, with James Bogar officiating.
Mr. Pearson was born May 28, 1926, in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Walter J. & Catherine (Calpin) Pearson. On February 2, 1980, in LaPorte, he married Dorothy M. Goodsite, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Rosemary (Robert) Aikman, LaPorte; sons, John P. Pearson Jr., and Walter (Jeni) Pearson, both of LaPorte; step-daughter, Martha Varga, South Bend; step-son, Alvin Miller, South Bend; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by sisters Jean Ciesielski and Anne Prestin. and brothers, William and Ronald Pearson.
He had retired from the Whirlpool Corporation in 1989, having worked there for 38 years. He was a member of PNA and Countryside Christian Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of WW II.
