John Tarnow, 39, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. David Young officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home and at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
John was born September 9, 1966 in LaPorte to Daniel John and Linda (Clark) Tarnow. On September 5, 1998, at St. John's Lutheran Church, LaPorte, he married Lisa Jo Ludwig, who survives.
Also surviving are sons Daniel John Tarnow II and Dwight Douglas Tarnow, both at home; parents Daniel & Linda Tarnow of LaPorte; grandmothers Mabel Clark of LaPorte and Leona Tarnow Zimmerman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
His grandfathers, John W. Tarnow and Norris A. Clark, preceded him in death.
John was a social studies teacher with the South Bend School System. He had also worked for nine years at the Whirlpool Corporation, LaPorte.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was a 1985 graduate of LaPorte High School and had had earned a bachelors degree in general studies with a double minor in political science and history from I.U.S.B. He had been only 6 hours shy of his master's degree.
