Joseph R. Ault

July 19, 1918 — February 13, 2004

Joseph R. Ault, 85, LaPorte, died of natural causes at 1:10 a.m. Friday (Feb. 13, 2004) at LaPorte Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, with the Rev. Tim Williams officiating. Burial will be in Kingsbury Cemetery with full military rites.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the services Monday at the funeral home.

He was born July 19, 1918, in LaPorte to John O. and Fern J. (Craft) Ault. On Jan. 12, 1951, in LaPorte, he married Rita Ann Buell, who survives.

Survivors also include one daughter, Marge Schlundt, Valparaiso; two sons, Mike and Tom Ault, both of LaPorte; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ellen Ault, LaPorte; and one nephew, David Ault.

One brother, John Ault, preceded him in death.

Mr. Ault was a self-employed farmer all of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he received a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Kingsbury Baptist Church. Mr. Ault belonged to the Harmon Gray Post 83 of the American Legion and to the Farm Bureau.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingsbury Baptist Church or to the VNA Hospice.
