Joseph Banghart, 74, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.
Joseph was born in Waukegan, IL, on July 15, 1944.
On February 6, 1998 in Las Vegas, NV, he married Rose M. Phillips who survives in La Porte. Also surviving are his children, Scott (Tracy) Banghart of Rolling Prairie, Penny Banghart of Plymouth, and William Banghart of Plymouth; grandsons, Dylan Hartke and Shawn Pepple; and stepson, Ronald Hartke, Jr. of La Porte.
Joseph retired from Silgan Containers after 38 years. He enjoyed drinking Miller Light, shooting and reloading at the gun range, hunting, fishing during his younger years, and sitting out in the sun.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. At Joseph's request no services will take place.
