Joseph Lawrence Petersen, 54, of Crawfordsville, IN passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in La Porte, IN.
Joseph was born in Kansas City, MO, on December 13, 1962 to Lawrence R. and Rosemari (Bowles) Petersen.
Surviving are his mother, Rosemari Petersen of La Porte, brother, Don (Jennifer) Petersen from Lafayette, IN; nephews, Colton and Gavin Petersen; stepmother, Lavenia Petersen; and special friends, Joanie Lisak of La Porte, and Carmen Wilcox of Crawfordsville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Petersen.
Joseph graduated from La Porte High School in 1982. He loved fishing, cats, dogs, and volunteering his time to help others.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM (CST) on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 10 AM (CST) on Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
A second Memorial Service will also be held at 2 PM on Friday, July 7, 2017 at New Hope Christian Church, 2746 S. US Hwy 231, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
