Josephine "Jo" Allesee, 86 years old of La Porte, IN, died Sunday, February 13, 2011 in LaPorte Hospital.
She was born July 6, 1924 in LaPorte, IN, Daughter of Benjamin and Edna (Grimes) Pate.
Jo graduated in 1942 from LaPorte High School, She retired in 1988 after 30 years with LaPorte Community School Corporation. At retirement she was assistant to Dwight Tallman, Assistant Superintendant. She was a member of First Baptist Church, AARP, American Heart Association, Republican Women, 463 GOP Club, 40 and over Dance Club and The LaPorte Hospital Auxiliary as an active volunteer for 27 years and holding offices such as Past Vice President & Assistant Treasurer. Jo and her husband George were avid LaPorte High School Slicer fans.
She was married on June 11, 1944 in Denver, CO., to George Allesee, Jr. who survives. Also surviving are her two children; David (Shirley) Allesee of Waterford, WI., Nancy (John) Allesee-Richmond of Lake Tahoe, CA., two grandchildren, Sara (Jon) Klepp of Waterford, WI., Maria Allesee (Dwayne) Sweeney of Rochester, WI; two great grandchildren, Paiton and Addison Klepp and sister, Betty Kuhnke of Arlington Heights, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, George Allesee III who preceded her in death in 1964.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Baker officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 4-7 P.M. and Thursday from 10-11 A.M. at Cutler Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
