Josephine Mary (Hakes) Mitchell

Josephine Mary Mitchell, 72, of La Porte, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.

Josephine was born in La Porte, IN, on June 3, 1946 to Ransom Claude and Lucile (Holloway) Hakes.

Surviving are her beloved son, David W. Mitchell of La Porte; and brother, Joseph Hakes of La Porte.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edna Mae McCollough, Charlotte Lloyd, Ruth Williamson; brothers, Phillip Hakes, and Dave Hakes.

Josephine enjoyed playing BINGO and going to church.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 12 PM (CT) on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Dan McDonald officiating.  A time of visitation will be held from 10 AM (CT) until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
