Joseph "Joe" Clarence West

Joseph "Joe" Clarence West, 93, of Michigan City, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his home.

Joe was born on September 11, 1925 in Royalton, KY, to Clarence and Leona (Marshall) West.

In 1976, he married June J. Joiner who preceded him in death on January 4, 2008.  Surviving are his 7 daughters, Ruth (William) Spence of Walkerton, Cindy (Harold) Bass of La Porte, Ella (Dennis) Kalsow of La Porte, Esther (Mike) Voloch of La Porte, Nancy West of La Porte, Patty West of Pigeon Forge, TN, Kathy West, of La Porte and Sandy (Mike) Nassar, of Michigan City;  11 grandchildren, Diane (Gary) Noveroske, Denise (Marc) Des EnFants, Billy (Amy) Spence, Alyson (Jim) Hornaday, Natalie (Scott) Kiff, Lindsay (Eric) Wathen, Alex (Tamera) Voloch, Leslie (D.J.) Yeager, Olivia West and Nathan Korleski; 14 great-grandchildren, Drew and Spencer Noveroske, Zack, Morgan, and Alex DesEnFants, Izzy and Avey Spence, Emma, Colin, and MilesWathen, Julia Kiff, Addie and Jack Yeager, Wyatt Voloch; as well as his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents; wives, Virginia Popplewell and June J. West; sons, Roger West and Jeffrey West; grandson, Tony West; and sister, Thelma Bodie.

Joe served in the US Marine Corps during WWII.  He worked as a welder at Allis-Chalmers for 25 years before he retired in 1987.  Joe enjoyed hunting, skeet shooting, and running.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Patton Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held  from 10 until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
