Rolling Prairie

Judy C. Schontube, 80, of Rolling Prairie, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

Judy was born on February 4, 1942 in Gary, IN, to Forrest and Barbara (Quaife) Blaker.

On April 13, 1963 in Lake County, IN, she married Steve Schontube, who preceded her in death.  Surviving Judy are her brother, Wade (Pat) Blaker of Rolling Prairie; her nieces and nephews, Robin (Mitch) Downing, Rhonda (Jason) Wilson, Brad (Darlene) Blaker, Tasha Mannia, Nicole (Luke) Snyder, and Kristin Pate; and Judy's beloved pets, Houndy Boy, Frizz, Baby and Gray Kitty.

She was preceded by her husband; parents; sister, Karen McColley; and brothers, Forrest G Blaker III and David Blaker.

Judy was a Qualified Medication Aide for many years in Crown Point.  Her favorite past times included crafting and crocheting.  Judy got joy out of  purchasing 'As Seen on T.V.' items and reading romance novels. She loved and adored her cats and dogs as well as taking care of others.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the German Methodist Episcopal Cemetery, Cedar Lake, IN, with Pastor Bob Vale officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pulaski Animal Center, P.O. Box 156, 13 E. Indian Hills, Winamac, IN 46996.
