Julie Gnatt Boyd, 93, LaPorte, died at 9:18 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 4, 2003) at LaPorte Hospital.
A private family graveside service will be held, with the Rev. Louis Schumm officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
She was born Dec. 27, 1909, in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Ove and Valgerdur (Nielsen) Gnatt. On April 22, 1933, she married Thomas Boyd, a three-time mayor of LaPorte, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Rudy Boyd, Carefree, Ariz., and Charles Boyd, Scottsdale, Ariz.; one daughter, Julie Boyd-Campbell, Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Mary Gigliotti, LaPorte, and Judith Shupe, California.
Also preceding Mrs. Boyd in death was one brother, Rudolf Gnatt.
Mrs. Boyd was a member of the LaPorte Presbyterian Church and was a charter member of Questers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the LaPorte Salvation Army.
