Kathryn Kaufman, age 90, of Walkerton (Fish Lake) Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Settlers Place in La Porte.
Kathryn was born in Hammond, IN on December 8, 1924 to the late James and Melba (Jeager) Arney.
On June 9, 1951 in La Porte, she married Gerald D. Kaufman who preceded her in death on December 30, 2008. Surviving are her son, David Kaufman of Fish Lake; daughter, Shelley (Tom) Kruse of La Porte; granddaughter, Kathryn "Katie" Kruse of La Porte; and sister-in-law, Carolee Epperson.
Kay worked at Allis Chalmers and later retired from the La Porte County Health Department after 15 years in 1990. She was a Charter member of the Lincoln Township Volunteer Fire Department, and American Legion Post 400 Auxiliaries of Fish Lake.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Ron Devenport officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, April 9, 2015 and from 9 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place following the service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton, IN.
